I never stopped working on ACT prep with my students , but I took a long break from posting. Life got busy and my family needed a large part of my time. Now things have settled back into place and I'm ready to concentrate on ACT prep. There are four ACT prep classes this year, so the bulk of my school day is spent preparing students for the test. Our school system is paying for all the juniors to take the test in October as well as the regular spring test, and I was fortunate to have an opportunity to confer with an official ACT trainer who had some amazing insights and tips for preppnig students. I'm excited to use these ideas with my classes and continue to evaluate and polish my approach to get the best results. It's going to be an exciting year!

Chris Howse was a keynote speaker at the AEA Conference in Montgomery on April 26, 2019. He talked about Fairview High School's rise from a 'D' school to a 'B' school on the strength of their ACT scores. Check our social media feeds for the full story! Chris Howse presented Fairview High School's story of going from a 'D' to an 'A' on the state report card to the AEA Conference in Mobile on March 2, 2019. Last year's ACT scores went up dramatically. He worked with the data team to institute a school-wide program to bring ACT prep into every course and inspire the students to keep practicing and use his tips and strategies on the test.
